Well Rachel Alexandra does’nt look that good, and Zenyatta looks GREAT! The Fair Grounds did’nt expect the unexpected. The horse of the year looked short and could’nt switch leads coming down the stretch which is a sign of fatigue, maybe tying up coming down to the finish. It looked like she was comfortable but was unable to sustain a late kick. On the other hand Zenyatta looked like the horse of the year, dodging in and out and in again and looked smooth to win at Santa Anita. Mike Smith was 15 lengths out of it coming into the turn and for a second it looked like she would’nt have the room to get through. But great horses like this only come around once or twice in a lifetime. John Sherriffs has this mare in top shape. Will it be a match race in Arkansas? I have to believe that Zenyatta is a much better horse right now. OK Rachel fans hse did look short, and Steve Asmussen knows she probably needed a race but it did’nt look good.
